So we decided a couple of weeks ago to go bare bottom on our 175 reef... We have been having phosphate and nitrate problems for 6 months. We run bio pellets and GFO lots of regular water changes..
So we tore apart the tank removed the sand and put it all back together... Sand was disgusting I might add. So nitrates are now at 0! And phosphates are very low.
Anyone else going bare bottom?
